According to James Hansen the respected NASA climate scientist, we entered runaway global heating when we passed the carbon 386 ppm level. If you imagined runaway global heating like a train without brakes rolling down a mountain that is getting steeper and steeper, you would have a good idea about the seriousness of our coming runaway global heating consequences. Take a look at our atmospheric carbon level graph below. (As of March 2022 we were at carbon 421 ppm.)
Runaway global warming can be thought of as having several stages. It has a beginning stage as we are in now. It also has a middle stage and a final stage. (Those stages are described further below.)
We use the term and slogan Climate Change Solutions, Preparations, Adaptations and Recovery for many reasons.
The current runaway global heating science says it all!
On our website, we have laid out the unbiased climate and global heating science, which solidly indicates that we are already facing an unavoidable global heating-caused extinction event of about half of humanity by mid-century. Such a massive die-off will be due to the 20 combined future consequences of global warming particularly, mass starvation due to global crop failures of the most climate-sensitive crops as well as crossing the first three of the four major extinction-evoking global warming tipping points.

Why this is Runaway Climate Crisis happening?
One key reason why this mass extinction event will occur is that we have ignored 60 years of scientific warnings. Over and over we missed the opportunities to fix global heating when we could have easily made the needed gradual changes to keep escalating global heating from reaching our current catastrophic and runaway level.
An already ongoing mass extinction event is unavoidable because soon we will be unable to stop ourselves from crossing the first three of the four most dangerous global warming tipping points. We will be unable to stop ourselves because we will be unable to achieve the correct 2025 global fossil fuel reduction targets!
Even more regrettable, is the fact that the mass extinction of much of humanity is not the worst global warming future consequence we are facing. If we do not make or come reasonably close to the 2025 global reduction targets for our global fossil fuel use, we will also face the beginning stages of a painfully real near-total extinction as soon as 2070.(Click here to discover why total human extinction is not realistic or probable and the worst humanity will experience is near-total extinction (50 to 90+% of humanity going extinct.)
We have now reached a runaway global heating acceleration level where only a worldwide government-driven mass mobilization similar in scope to the mass mobilization that occurred before World War II can save us from near-total extinction. Once we increase the average global temperature by three to four degrees Celcius, adapting to runaway global heating consequences is no longer possible! (We have already created an already committed temperature rise of 1.9 C to about 2.6 C. that will happen no matter what we do.)
Here is how a global heating near-total extinction event will eventually unfold if we do not act and adapt soon!
A near-total extinction event will begin as early as 50-70 years in the form of very high temperature and very high atmospheric carbon levels, which support initiating the final runaway-global heating processes, aka the runaway greenhouse effect.
Runaway global warming is also referred to as the runaway greenhouse effect or extinction-level global warming. The final stage of runaway global warming describes the last circumstances in which the climate destabilizes catastrophically and permanently from its original state—similar to what happened on Venus when Venus lost its atmosphere out into outer space. The final stage of runaway global warming is thought to have occurred on Venus 4 billion years ago, because of a very high carbon-rich atmosphere and exceptionally high average surface temperatures.
The final stage runaway global warming will eventually create a literal Climageddon meltdown where nothing will survive because there will be no atmosphere. This true total extinction event could enter its beginning phases as soon as our average global temperature rises above 6 degrees Celcius.
What is also essential to keep in mind when viewing our potential for a runaway global warming near-total extinction event beginning in about 50-70 years, is that a mass extinction event is already unfolding at an accelerating pace and, it will come to full realization throughout the next 30-50 years.
But, the good news is that we have only about until 2025 left to reduce global fossil fuel enough (by coming as close as possible to the 2025 targets,) to prevent crossing the three most deadly global warming tipping points and bringing about the beginning phases of near-total extinction!
Adapting to and surviving near-total extinction will also be very difficult for us to achieve. Therefore, because of the above as well as the fact that you must be able to call a thing what it actually is in order to deal with it, we have updated our slogan and mission statement to reflect the current reality.
We do not expect new visitors or individuals unfamiliar with the current global warming science or our current emergency to believe the above nearly-unbearable news of what they have just read. But, if they take the time to look at the documentation links in the copy above (and the links to follow,) we believe, that they too will come to understand that the mass extinction vs near-total extinction dilemma that humanity now finds itself in is, unfortunately, 100% real!

Our new plan is ultimately practical in that it also helps individuals make the critical emergency preparations and adaptions needed to deal with our steadily unfolding mass extinction process while also still forwarding and promoting all of the key actions and adaptations that must be done by our governments to prevent the near-total extinction of humanity.
