Overview of Job One Plan Action Steps

Here is a brief summary and overview of a few of the Job One Plan's individual, family, and small business as well as government-driven action steps that are needed to effectively survive our currently out of control global warming as well as to slow and lessen it.

At the end of this document, you will find instructions on how to get the free and complete Job One for Humanity Plan.

Job One Plan government-driven action steps. A quick overview:

1.)  Call an emergency meeting of world leaders. The purpose of the meeting will be to publically acknowledge that global warming has already become out of control for at least the next 50 years and to immediately enact independently verifiable and enforceable global warming laws and carbon and methane pollution reduction targets. These new laws would be based on the following critical goals:

a. Radically and immediately scale down global fossil fuel use to ensure achieving carbon neutrality (net zero carbon) for all greenhouse gases as soon as can be enacted and enforced through law. This will also require a massive global mobilization beyond the scale of mass mobilization that occurred in World War 2.

Job One’s use of the term carbon neutrality, or having a net zero carbon footprint, means achieving net zero carbon emissions by balancing any measured amounts of new and additional carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere with an equivalent measured amount of carbon dioxide taken from the atmosphere naturally and being captured for long-term storage (see carbon sequestration). In the Job One Plan, this critical carbon capture and sequestration should happen exclusively through our already-existing natural biological, chemical, and physical processes (described in detail in the new Climageddon book).

Net zero carbon emission is a difficult subgoal to achieve. It will require that our governments place huge financial disincentives on fossil fuel use. Additionally, we will need to keep 90% or more of all existing fossil fuels (coal, oil, natural gas, tar sands, etc.) in the ground and never burned. Please note that the Job One Plan for achieving carbon-neutral does not endorse Cap and Trade methods of arriving at carbon-neutral.

Current Cap and Trade methods are too often a disguise for “business as usual” and will not get us to the radical fossil fuel reduction levels we need immediately! In Job One’s own targeted version of carbon-neutral called Fee and Dividend, you will not be able to buy Cap and Trade carbon credits to make up the difference and achieve net zero carbon emissions because that inevitably promotes more fossil fuel burning.

b. Scale up and transition globally to ensure nearly 100% renewable global green energy generation as soon as is mechanically possible. We need to bring new and existing green energy generation technology online and to full capacity at a speed of infrastructure transformation, deployment, and massive global mobilization never before achieved in human history --- even beyond the scale of mass mobilization that occurred in World War 2. (Please note that this subgoal is focused only on global green energy generation, not merely building more efficient, less polluting electric appliances or electric cars that will still be getting their electricity mostly from fossil fuel energy generation.

2.) Begin helping the potential billions of individuals who will want to migrate from the global warming unsafe zones to the safer zones above the 45th parallel north or below the 45th parallel south.

3.) Begin moving the key infrastructure of modern civilization to the global warming safe zones above the 45th parallel north or below the 45th parallel south.

4.) Develop a global plan to provide adequate food to the billions of additional individuals who will be living above the 45th parallel north or below the 45th parallel south where the soil quality and the less sunlight durations will be inadequate to grow enough food using traditional or existing means.

5.) Develop a global plan to decommission hundreds of nuclear reactors and toxic chemical plants in the global warming unsafe zones that will no longer be able to be kept secure or maintained by functioning governments. If these nuclear reactors or toxic chemical sites meltdown or go critical as the global warming emergency continues, it will not matter where you are in the world. No location will be safe!

Job One Plan action steps for individuals families and small businesses:

    1. Realize that we are already in a global state where global warming has already become out of control for at least the next 50 years.
    2. Prepare global warming emergency backup plans. We have to face the reality that we have not and can not change our global fossil fuel use behaviors in time to prevent most of the 20 worst consequences of escalating global warming. Because of this, it is now critical for every individual, family, and small business to have a global warming emergency plan in place and ready.
    3. Start preparing your emergency back up supplies and migration plan to minimize the effects of more global warming disasters occurring with increasing frequency, severity and scale.
    4. To help slow and lessen the 20 worst consequences of global warming.

How To Get Started with the Free Job One Plan

Click here for Part 1 of the Job one Plan on how to best prepare yourself, family and small business for the unavoidable worst consequences of global warming. (Part 1 was formerly Part 4 of the original Job One Plan found in the Climageddon book. We had to move it forward because global warming is now out of control for at least the next 50 years  and everyone needs to do some basic emergency preparation to survive the unavoidable consequences that are coming while they work on the other Job One steps below.)

Click here for Part 2 of the Job One Plan on the best individual, family and small business actions to help slow, lessen and adapt to the unavoidable worse consequences of global warming to do what you can to minimize the coming suffering and loss. (This new Part 2 was formerly an appendix in the Climageddon book. Individual actions now have a slightly more important role in helping to modestly slow, lessen and adapt to what is coming. And, at this point, the consequences that are coming are so challenging that any modest slowing, lessening or adaption to them will be vital to saving more people from unnecessary suffering or death.)

Click here for Part 3 of the Job One Plan. It is the government-driven actions that will work to drastically reduce greenhouse gases down to net zero so we survive global warming. These are the most critical collective actions we must do to prevent the very extinction of humanity and future generations. (This is the original Part 3 of the Job One Plan found in the Climageddon book, but it has been extensively upgraded including a completely new action step 12. It also has been refocused even more deeply upon the single painful and dominant reality that we must make immediate, radical and costly reductions in our fossil fuel energy generation and use.)

Click here for Part 4 of the Job One Plan for radical new ideas on how we can get the very difficult must do government-driven survival critical actions of Part 3 of the Job One plan done. (Part 4 has been upgraded by adding religious leaders to the mix of individuals who can possibly have real influence upon our national politicians to compel them to make the critical government level driven changes described in Part 3 of the Job One Plan.)

We will also soon have a new downloadable PDF file that includes all 4 parts of the recently upgraded Job One Plan. We will notify all website subscribers and members when it goes up.
